I was surprised by the reviews. I bought it because the reviews weren't that bad. Mine is dishwasher safe, I just took it apart as I said although the first time I only rinsed it because it's mostly clean. I cooked it in the microwave and chilled it before taking it out. I doused it with a little cold water, put the lid on and shook it. PERFECT! The eggshell came off immediately and I had 4 perfect hard boiled eggs! I wish he cooked more but he does what he says if you follow the instructions! I love mine and it's worth it because I hate peeling eggs!
