The magnetic force is so weak that the scrubbing unit inside the tank breaks off and floats up trying to remove the algae from the glass. Weak magnets also reduce the effectiveness of the cleaning - you have to rub the same glass surface in different directions again and again to remove even the smallest dirt. Do yourself a favor and choose a different product. These really suck. I took a chance because the price seemed reasonable but they ended up in the trash.
