I have bought many Logitech products over the years so I had no hesitation in ordering this system to replace my aging desktop speakers. I paid a whopping $30 for these, but over the years they've gotten pretty shabby, and the flimsy grille that served as the speaker grille has snapped on one of the units. By the looks of it, these Logitech Z337 speakers should also improve the sound over the old ones, and they were available at a very good price for a limited time. Unfortunately this was not to be. I've just listened to the new speakers and am very disappointed with the sound they produce. The bass is muddy and "vampiric" (for lack of a better word), and the overall sound sounds oddly compressed, as if all the instruments are woven together. No, I don't expect sonic perfection from a pair of $50 speakers (on sale), but they're significantly inferior to the $30 speakers they're meant to replace β which, ironically, also carry the Logitech name. I also felt that the new speakers looked pretty cheap out of the box and the controls and connection points didn't inspire confidence. My main concern, however, is decent sound, and that's where these speakers really fall short. You go back to Revane.
