Review on VIOFO Interior Infrared Buffered Detection by Jason Regalado

I'm not an Uber/Lyft driver. There are two main reasons for buying an A129 Duo IR to replace a single DVR: First, I need a DVR that not only records incoming traffic but can also record our upcoming family member in the back seat. Second, I need a stealth design dash cam because I drive to the San Francisco Bay Area once every two weeks, sometimes I need to park the car on the street at night. Both the front and inner cameras are very easy to install. Be sure to clean the windshield mounting location well, otherwise the 3M tape will not stick permanently. Here I used rubbing alcohol to remove grease and residue on the windshield. The front camera can easily be hidden behind the rear-view mirror. For a better view of our passenger on the back seat, I installed an interior camera on the rear window. The high quality cable is a little stiff, but I had no problem routing the cable from the front camera to the rear/inner camera. 18ft long is more than enough for my Camry, there's a lot more to spare. All in all it took me about 20 minutes to install. What I really like about the A129 Duo IR is the video quality. The front camera is as clear as a cinema, day or night. The color of the frame is natural and very close to the original colors. The video quality at night is better than I expected. Night video is bright, but the noise level is surprisingly very low, everything was visible even without a street light. Most of the time I feel like I don't need to turn on the rear (inner) camera's IR mode because the street light is already good enough to illuminate the inside of a car. What I love about the A129 Duo IR: • Fantastic video quality from both the front and rear cameras. , from day to night. • Hidden Case Design --- I no longer need to remove and hide the dashcam when I park my car outside at night. • It is not very hot in summer. The A129 dissipates heat very well, and even with both cameras in 1080P WDR mode, it's still a lot colder than my wife's YI DVR. • The swiveling interior camera can be easily configured as a reversing camera. Suggestion: Minor firmware bug detected. . I set "Live Video Source" to "Rear Camera". But for some reason after reboot it switches to "Back Overlay". Hopefully Viofo can fix this small problem in the next firmware update (current firmware is 1.0). The rest of the camera works great. I highly recommend the A129 Duo IR if video quality and reliability are your top priorities.
