I have many criteria for my kitchen shears, but probably the most important is that they are dishwasher safe. For example, if you use scissors to cut chicken, trim flowers, and open hard packaging, you should be able to put them in the dishwasher for cleaning/sanitizing. That's exactly what I'm doing as I received both scissors with no problems. The only thing I would have liked would have been that the scissors could be separated for even more thorough cleaning (hence only 4 stars for ease of cleaning). But for the price they are attractive, handy and versatile. I recommend them.
