I have been using Fujifilm for a long time and wanted a universal universal lens. My research led me to the well-received 23mm F1.4 lens. What attracted me to this lens was its sharpness, large aperture and focal length. The focal length is wide enough to capture landscapes and street scenes, but narrow enough to focus on a single subject. The focal length is great for portraits, especially when you want to capture more of the surroundings. In low light, the lens produces clear images. Even wide open at f1.4, images don't look soft. A large aperture allows you to blur the background nicely. The lens is very well made, its all metal construction. He is heavier. The aperture ring has a nice crisp click. That's a lot better than the 14mm f2.8 aperture ring, which is pretty loose. Overall I am very happy with this lens. I bought a used version for $719 which is a bargain for the type of images you get (check out some sample images I posted). I plan to keep this lens for a long time!
