I first used it a few months after purchasing it. It worked for about 30 minutes and then shut down. I got it out of the water using the included lifting ring and found that the reason it failed was that the head was full of water and the cable was no longer securely in the socket and the gasket was allowing water to enter the case. I took it apart and painted it and it seems to be working fine now, but I haven't left it in the water long enough to know if it's actually waterproof! I am actually afraid that if left submerged it will leak and corrode to the point of becoming a doorstop! It wasn't cheap and I really expected better quality! If I had known beforehand I would have sent it back. Lesson Learned: Unless you intend to use the product right away, always check for defects!
