It does NOT align the head

This adapter does NOT align your head like you would on a tripod and I am debating whether to return it or not. Otherwise it's definitely a quality piece (although it came with no instructions and I did find that you have to apply force to the cocking mechanism while pushing down on the head to actually screw it in deep enough to seat in the bowl).
