I think these lamps work fine. Unfortunately, Northern Indiana has a lot of cloud cover. I think I just got used to it and didn't realize how little sun we actually get until I started paying attention after buying these lights. They work, but since we haven't had a full day of sun since we bought them, I don't really know how long they'll last on a full charge. But they look good when on, not as bright as regular Christmas lights but I didn't expect them to be like this. I just wanted lights that were easy to install, not too heavy and didn't need batteries. This is compliant. However, I can complement these garlands with other garlands that use batteries as I've just invested in rechargeable batteries. Overall I would recommend these lamps if you have a lot of sunlight.
