They've gotten a lot cheaper lately (now just GE branded instead of the old GE). No longer 10 inches, more like 9.8 inches, which can result in water bypassing the filter. The carbon must have gone down as they weigh half what they used to. We've had sediment and stains in our toilets recently and haven't had them in 10 years of using these filters. City water filtration only so the water is not very dirty to begin with but sorry after years of loyalty this is now unacceptable. I've tried replacing them a few times hoping I got a "bad batch" but apparently that's the new normal.
