I was having some problems with my 2008 Subaru when the check engine light came on. After tracking down the issues, I couldn't disable CEL. The dealer wanted to bill me $1,200. I chose this pacesetter block and did the work myself. The unit came with a bare finish, not polished like the picture. After reading the reviews I bought an exhaust sleeve to control the heat so I didn't bother with the fairing. I was just concerned with the fit. Removing the old one wasn't difficult. The original has studs on the exhaust flange which you will need to swap out for this block. Just use a few nuts together to remove it from the old device and install it on the new one. This block worked great without the cleats installed. Bolt the manifolds out of the way, install the gasket and studs in that location and tighten. My check engine light is out and I can say it's breathing better than 6 months. I would recommend this product. Another installation method that would be easier is to pull out the manifold and center tube at the same time and reinstall them with the device attached.
