Review on 🐦 Enhance Your Bird's Comfort with Polly's Twister Bird Perch, X-Large by Stephanie More

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Very heavy, no smooth section, no safety warnings, fluorescent green/yellow perch

I have purchased similar perches from other manufacturers and they have been safer. They had a smooth bird's paw panel with a textured section that ran vertically to catch long nails. They also cautioned against using a heavily textured perch as the only option, as it could injure the bird's delicate legs. Polly's roost had no warnings or smooth edges. It is heavier than other XL perch trimmers. I installed it but couldn't comfortably leave it in place for fear it would bend or break the cage bars with the movement and weight of the playing or feeding bird. I've learned to deal with random colors, but the listing doesn't show that to be the case. I have the yellow perch highlighter, a color I already know scares my bird. (This used to panic him, but he's experienced it and can tolerate it better. Seems like a bad color choice anyway.) I had to let him out of the cage but within sight of the bird to get him used to it. The bright color also bothered me during installation. It wasn't worth straining as I didn't think it was securely installed. I like the wave design as it gives the birds different options. I'll try a smaller size and see if it fits more securely.
