It takes a little practice
I used the seed for Jalapeno and Jimmy Nardelo peppers from my garden. I'm right-handed and my first impulse was to double the core clockwise, but I soon found that turning counter-clockwise then clockwise gives the best results in cutting through the membrane holding the seeds. Like all instruments, the Pepper size has a sweet spot. I find this tool useful and recommend it.
