This Code P0442 has finally been fixed! Tried the gas cap - no luck, front engine bay solenoid valve, no luck, blowing smoke into the vacuum lines, no leaks. Hmm, what's left? Magnetic coil at the back, near the fuel tank! Getting or replacing wasn't difficult at all. The trick is that the Revain parts master said this part would NOT fit this car and recommended a sensor with a straight down connector and a right angle connector, as opposed to this sensor with two right angle connectors. This sensor costs $110 and there is no difference in function compared to this sensor on the car computer. After all, it's just a 12V piston in a case, no matter how the ports are positioned. The vacuum line connecting this had plenty of slack to accommodate the difference in alignment. I'm glad I took the risk.
