This should have been a simple and easy install; Remove the two screws, align the new parts, and reinstall the two new screws. There was a problem installing the first screw as the screw holes on the receiver were partially covered with paint covering the entire piece. Also, the screw holes are quite small. When I screwed in the first screw, it didn't want to go all the way in and the shank of the screw broke when I tightened it. I had to use a vise to remove the broken off portion of the screw. Then I had to determine the thread pitch of the screws and clean the holes of the recording with a tap. Luckily, three lengths of screw (but no direction) were included and the medium size fit my door so I was able to complete the installation, but what should have taken 15 minutes ended up taking over an hour. i wasn't happy What if I were a consumer who didn't have a tap and die set in their tool box? It could have been a disaster. No, I would not buy this item again. Being made of ceramic alloy I don't expect it to last very long as the handle takes stress every time you open and close a sliding door that we use a lot. Next time I'll look for something better and maybe a local hardware store where I can inspect the parts before buying.
