Bought for close work, sorry. Magnification is bad. It's only 2x in the largest lens, and the small lens (they're talking about) is so SMALL it's useless! It's not even the size of a good magnifying glass. LARGE lens must be at least 5X or 10X to be sufficient! It takes someone with LOTS of muscle strength to even attempt to open the battery compartment and there are no instructions anywhere! I ONLY figured out how to open this stupid thing AFTER reading someone's review - AND IT WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO DO! Well, if you weigh about 300 pounds. and you can bench press 200 pounds, you probably won't have a problem with that. Not only that, but once you open the battery compartment (after putting band-aids on the wounds!), pulling down the SECOND cover that hides the batteries is no small feat either! What a waste of time and $$!
