Can be kept for months; improved design

This review was originally published here on 09/23/2021. Somehow they got moved into their canvas shoes list. This is a huge improvement over regular training shoes. Padded insoles across the width and length absorb shock, but I still feel the ground. I have a 7B in street shoes, with a very high arch and low toe profile. I first ordered 7-7.5 which was too long and too wide. Now I wear 6-6.5 after measuring my feet according to the instructions (duh) and they are perfect! After they stretch, I continue to wear them, but already in socks (I dance at home). After a few months of use, they won't fall apart anywhere, so no extra landfill. . I hate that most practice shoes and pointe shoes are intentionally disposable. They will work very well on a large scale. Highly recommended. UPDATE #1 DEC 2021: So it's been 3 months and the slack adjusters broke today after a few too many turns. I just sewed the ribbons together. The cushioning is still good, which for me is the main attraction of this shoe. UPDATE #1, JANUARY 2022: The seller has contacted me to let me know that the sliding strap adjusters have been redesigned and strengthened. The pair I bought on 9/17/21 had a buckle problem, however after 3 months of almost daily use. The pair I bought on 9/23/21 (6 days later) has an extra slider. These didn't break. Any pair you buy after this date should have this very durable redesign. Comment: Every other sport or discipline I play has specialized technical gear made from modern materials to improve performance and prevent injuries, but sorry, ballerinas are still a joke, they're worse than they were in medieval times. I am sure that even serfs and forced laborers had more durable and protective shoes than scraps of leather, glue, cardboard and cloth. I know that shoes are designed for 3D printers, and Seth Orza has a company that uses sports technology to create ballet flats with more support and cushioning. This is what I'm wearing at the moment. I add Spenco to protect my joints and discs once they've stretched enough. My orthopedist for sports medicine agreed. While training at home and attending classes via Zoom, I stay away from the Middle Ages.

Pros
  • These are by far the most comfortable ballet flats I've ever worn to ballet class.
Cons
  • Slippery on some floors
