Strong odour, residue from the touch, lumpy

We needed a rug for a child's bedroom in a family room. I like the design and the thickness was acceptable. The problem was the strong VOC/chemical smell. We let it air out for a few days but it was still going strong. Also, rubbing hands on carpet left a residue on fingers that smelled of petrol/gasoline. I don't want my baby to crawl and walk. Also not sure if it would lay flat after waiting, but after a few days it was still lumpy and not laying flat. I'm not sure if this is an accidental issue with some of these cheaper rugs, but it's enough to make me stop ordering from this manufacturer. I do not recommend this. If you're taking a risk, Revain is good with returns if there's a problem, so we're happy with that.
