Review on TomTom ONE 3rd Gen 3.5" Portable GPS Vehicle Navigator with Manufacturer Discontinuation by Marcus Chavva

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Overall fantastic with a few SMALL glitches

I received my TomTom yesterday and it is 99% as expected. I didn't need anything very fancy, I was fine with not naming street names (most times when I get lost it's because the street sign is missing anyway!). Some of the features that come with this thing are BIG! I like how the volume changes with speed, I've never had hearing problems although I usually listen to the radio louder than I should. The instructions are clear and repeated quite a bit so it's very hard to go wrong. I only noticed two things that kept me from giving it a full five stars. First, some pretty important POIs are missing. Things like the Bronx Zoo and Foxwoods Casino, which are by no means new. However, a newer casino near me (Mohegan Sun) works fine. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right place, but I've tried various options and couldn't find it. It's ok since I can enter an address, but it's just an extra step I need to do. But the biggest thing was that during my "first trip" at some point during my trip, he kept telling me to keep to the left. I was at a four way intersection, there was no way to turn left without turning left, so I did. Which then made the tom-tam count, spin in circles, and start over. I went straight and it was good. Also, on the map screen, it showed the route sharply TURNING RIGHT and then left again. So the given bearing was to the left and the map was pointing to the right when I should have been going straight. a little confusing. Overall I am very happy with this purchase! It's one of those things that you don't even realize how much you need it until you have it. Highly recommended!
