Fantastic handle design

Everything in my kitchen reflects who I am in many ways. I love to cook and have always viewed kitchen utensils as an extension of my style and creativity. So when Dalstrong came out with their new Shadow Black Series, I was completely intrigued. This knife is completely different from the knives in their Shogun, Gladiator and Phantom lines - all lines that I own and love for their own unique qualities. The first thing that will strike you about this Shadow Black Series chef's knife is how it compares to other Dalstrong knives. Messer is a black non-reflective coating of titanium nitride on the blade. Not only does this give the blade a sleek, high quality, and unique look (not to mention a bad $$), but it also helps protect the blade from corrosion, increases the strength of the blade itself, and improves the non-stick properties of the knife. Since a chef's knife is generally intended as an all-purpose multi-function knife for those who need to cut, grind, and dice frequently, all of these important considerations and attributes are important. The edge of the blade itself is incredibly sharp, allowing me to go from dicing and mincing vegetables to slicing muscle proteins like beef and chicken into clean slices with ease. Another important and significant difference that you will notice is the design of the handle for this knife, which I think makes this knife so unique. Unlike other knives, the geometry of the handle is short, even and smooth. It has the most intuitive fiber-resin molded form angles, giving it the most natural feel in your hand. Rather than pressing your hand against the flat edges of a regular grip, this grip is designed to wrap around your palm for a secure grip no matter what grip style you're using. I have small hands and this knife seems to have been made especially for me. My husband, whose hands are much larger than mine, also prefers this knife because of the comfortable grip in his hand. The handle also has a light texture that gives it good slip resistance. Another thing I love about this grip is that unlike traditional wooden grips, it's almost impervious to heat, cold, and moisture. Like other Dalstrong knives, this knife is constructed with a full stock and has excellent weight and balance. If you're planning on giving it as a gift, you'll love the sleek black gift box with magnetic closure that this knife comes in. given to make this knife a real treasure in your kitchen. I'm glad I tried this beauty!
