It helps fight mold and mildew. The price is correct. From a scientific point of view, a quaternary ammonium ("quat") sanitizer is a bit silly for this application. Quat sanitizers are widely used in restaurants, hotels, and healthcare. They work well as a bactericide/virucide. However, one Achilles' heel of quats is that they adsorb onto cellulose/cotton fibers, making the solution non-germicidal. So if you're using Quat sanitizer in a restaurant or healthcare setting, don't use a natural fiber-based cleaning wipe. The filters sold by Essick Air are made of cellulose. Thus, most of the active ingredient is absorbed by the filter and does not actively act as an anti-mold agent. Another type of anti-mold might be a better choice. Now that this rant is complete it seems to be working quite well. Maybe they compensated for adsorption on the filter when calculating the dose.
