Review on πŸŒ€ The Tremendous Triton TSPST450 Oscillating Spindle Sander: Powerfully Precise Sanding at Your Fingertips! by Aaron Lewis

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Ok two small design and quality control issues

Overall seems to work well and hard to beat, two in one. QC Issue - I was given a bit of a spindle tension that didn't match the amount of thread (too few threads per inch). I'm 100% sure of that, having checked the thread count with other nuts/bolts I have. Easy enough to replace, but annoying. The first design issue - be careful - the belt tension spring sometimes tends to slip sideways and push the belt out of plane, this not only rubs the belt but also pushes the belt towards the table. When tensioning the belt, simply check that the angle of the spring is vertical and not horizontal. In my drawing it's at the corner between the two, which is fine, but it used to be further to the side and was causing a problem. Design problem 2 - I can't tell you want the spindle to "lock" when threading a nut. Once it nears tension, the spindle starts turning and I can't fully tighten it, but there still seems to be enough tension to get the job done. Would I buy it again? Possibly, but I'd be curious to see comparable models/brands and if they didn't have those little annoyances I might go with them.
