Easy Install - MAY solve your EVAP Error Code

I have a 2002 Dodge Durango. Issues EVAP error codes regularly. Usually this is P0440. Sometimes for fun and laughs, the PCM will also report a second EVAP code. I have them tend to turn on and off over time. I replaced the hoses, visually inspected the canister under the car and am now trying this magnet block. The exchange couldn't be easier. On my Durango it's next to the battery, next to the driver's side in the engine compartment. Just delete the old one. It has an electrical connection and three hoses. Disconnect them and then remove the device from the metal bracket. The new one has the same rubber mount with a slot for a metal shovel. Connect hoses, then reset MIL. The beauty of Durango is that you can do this even if you don't have a scanner. To read the codes, simply turn the key to the 'accessory' position three times quickly, then leave it on (never start the car). All codes are displayed. Of course, if you have a scanner, reading and resetting codes is easier. To reset the MIL without a scanner, you can turn off the battery for about 15 minutes. If you have these faults, note that after EACH repair and fault code reset, you must complete the ENTIRE drive cycle. This does not mean that you only have to drive the car several times. All monitors check for problems with specific driving behaviors. Specifically, EVAP is PITA. There are various websites that offer the correct drive cycle. I've tracked a few and ALL my monitors show readiness and clarity except for EVAP which reads incomplete. While most documents say you should have at least 1/4 tank of gas, I learned from two mechanic friends that you should have AT LEAST 1/2 tank of gas, but not all the way and then pass the test. scenarios. In my case, this solenoid actually fixed my error code. If it weren't, I'd have to do a smoke test and/or possibly replace the canister under the car.
