The glass used in this jug is very thin. When I put it in the fridge and take it out, I'm afraid it might break spontaneously, but I also have to maneuver at an angle because of the shelves on the fridge door. It hasn't broken yet, but I'm careful with it. After my first use, I bumped into another glass in the sink while rinsing and it shattered. Totally my fault but to be honest the other glass was perfectly fine. I sent a request to customer service and they sent me a new one no questions asked so 6 stars for that!. I like that the lid occupies the entire space of the carafe, sometimes with a carafe with a sloping spout, the liquid can squirt out because it is not closed; The missing spout doesn't bother you either, it pours out of the rounded edge quite normally. The only improvement I would suggest, other than making the jar thicker, is adding a rubberized bottom so it doesn't break when I put it on the counter.
