Silicone seals smell funny

Is OK. The glass held up, but looks very thin. The real problem and the reason for the bad rating are the silicone gaskets around the lid and the metal filter; they smell funny. The smell cannot be washed off. It almost smells like a skunk. And yes, it affects the taste of the coffee. Lately I've just been using a metal filter that floats freely in a glass jar. But with that decision, I should have bought just one metal filter, not the whole thing.

Easy to use and clean

Easy to use and clean, makes great cold coffee. I also use it as a coffee pot. I already have a 1 liter carafe but wanted something bigger; It's the perfect size. Very clean and elegant design, easy to use, easy to clean, borosilicate glass is beautiful and durable. However, because the top rim is completely flat, when used as a serving carafe, a few drops will always run down the side of the vessel; A small notch or filling lip on the rim opposite the handle makes this item much more…

life changing! for coffee, tea and espresso

So practical! Simply fill the filter with your choice of ground coffee and then filtered water. I usually do this in the evening so that the coffee is ready in the morning. The instructions recommend using 80 grams of ground coffee, which I find too strong for making cold iced coffee. I think 50 to 60 grams of ground coffee might be the perfect ratio depending on your caffeine preference. Once you've finished your coffee, simply remove it from the carafe and close the lid to keep your coffee…

Thin Glass: Coffee Makers

The glass used in this jug is very thin. When I put it in the fridge and take it out, I'm afraid it might break spontaneously, but I also have to maneuver at an angle because of the shelves on the fridge door. It hasn't broken yet, but I'm careful with it. After my first use, I bumped into another glass in the sink while rinsing and it shattered. Totally my fault but to be honest the other glass was perfectly fine. I sent a request to customer service and they sent me a new one no questions…

Suitable for cold brewing; probably better for sun tea

It's fairly well made of quality materials and relatively easy to use. It's also relatively easy to clean and is about the size of a 1/2 gallon milk container. What I do is coarsely grind the coffee beans at the store and then when I get home I use a metal colander to strain out the fine particles. The grinder at the grocery store produces a lot of fine grist, so I'll probably go with a manual grinder. After brewing cold coffee, a lot of fine grinds remain in the coffee pot (which is arguably…

Works as expected for making a delicious cold drink at home

Works exactly as expected and very easy to use. We love strong coffee and let a new batch sit for 24-36 hours, pour into a 2 liter glass jug, fill the rest of the jug with fresh water and enjoy while a new batch is brewed in this craft again. My mother lives with me and is a coffee lover, so 2 liters is enough for a maximum of 2-3 days. Some lessons learned: Don't grind the soil too fine. This helps with fine particles that end up in the coffee, as well as filling problems. We add soil just…

Suitable for cold brewing; It's probably better for sunny tea

It's quite well made with quality materials and relatively easy to use. In addition, it is relatively easy to clean and is roughly equivalent to a 1/2 gallon milk container. What I do is coarsely ground coffee beans at the store, and then when I get home I use a metal strainer to boil small particles. The coffee grinder in the supermarket produces a lot of small grinds, so I will probably use a manual coffee grinder. After brewing cold coffee, a lot of fine grinds remain in the coffee pot…

Good quality, decent size, great coffee!

Received a few days ago and so far very happy with the quality and functionality. I would like to share a few tips that will make it easier to use. The instructions mention using a certain weight of ground coffee, so this is the first time I got the scale. But once I did it, I realized that pouring the regrind at a specific point in the insert is a sufficient measurement. The proposed way of filling with water is also a bit shaky. The instructions say to pour water through the base, which takes

Better than expected (updated)!

This is a simple and effective solution for making a good cold brew. Too bad the process takes forever (it's not the product's fault). BUT, if you want a stronger flavor, after using purified cold water (try soaking the beans), let it steep for 12 hours or more, then refrigerate. and you will find that it is darker and richer. It's not possible if you think some ground beans won't end up in your coffee, but if you pour while leaving the metal ring on, some coffee (water) will get stuck and the…
