Preliminary check: Adjust the crimping tool a bit and it works perfectly, the wire cutters cut the 4awg wire without any problems. So I can't comment on how well it works in the long run or for anything over 4awg. The crimping pliers are just as easy to use as the (expensive, but more professional) Greenlee pliers*, except the dies were difficult to turn and lock until I loosened the hinges: I'm pretty sure the nuts just tightened were tightly dressed. I noticed that the casting left some edges, but this didn't affect the bends. The swivel nuts are nylock so unscrew them a little and they stay put and the dies rotate, engage and crimp well. From a kit at this price you can expect - more economy than quality. * If you've never used large crimping machines, be aware that the handles open almost 180° and it gets awkward when crimping, but that's just the design. The dies I have are NOT AWG numbered (maybe mm?). So if they're all like that, you'll have to take your time figuring out the crimp size - not that big of a deal using it every now and then. The cutters are sharp and clean but I only bought them (again) to fit an amp - can't comment on how long they will last. They are just stiff and smooth enough for a clean cut with no play in that joint.
