A great device for the price!

What a great price for this tool set! Surprisingly, both are very well made. I have used these wire cutters to cut high voltage cables with no smaller screen i.e. size 0. Fast, easy and clean! The crimping tool is very durable and seems to last forever. Great tool at a great price, thanks!

Poor Quality Tool!: Hand and Power Tools

Poor Quality Tool! If you use the right dies they curl too much and if you increase the size they still curl too much which is what I uploaded in the photo as an example. I should have known better when I first got a brand new tool out of the box, I couldn't index the dies because the dies had a large protruding edge that didn't allow me to rotate the dies! That should have been a red flag here. Very disappointed!

Straight from China

Look at this label on the tool. The absolute worst google translator I've ever seen. Read the last line. It is strange. For the price they are ok. I was able to crimp some copper lugs onto 4 AWG wire. Although the size didn't fit me. One size is small, the other is large. I had to stop crimping before the tool was fully closed to get a good connection. Also, scissors are pretty much useless. You have too much side-to-side tilt.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Everything is fine

hard to know what size to use

I use it for crimping copper terminals onto 4g and 1/0g wire. Once you get the hang of it, they will work quite well. Good enough for me to keep using, just a little difficult to figure out the right size. With them I crimp once and then rotate the material 90* to make another crimp. I then use a couple of locks on the crimp to push all of the copper into the shape before shrinking. For the price I can't really complain, this works better than my Klien brand pliers.

  • hands free
Cons
  • big and bulky

Incomprehensible tags and terrible ads, but the tool is pretty good.

Ridiculous product description and bad labeling on the tool reduce the rating of the product. What is "Stretch"? The crimping tool works great but the markings on the dies are lousy. Since the product description states that they are compatible with AWG sizes, how about marking AWG sizes on one side of the dies and metric sizes on the other side? After that I thought the tools are pretty good. The scissors cut through the 2AWG stranded battery cables like butter, making a clean, straight cut…

Pros
  • Super price
Cons
  • Slightly torn

I've always been skeptical of cheaper tools, but this one is legit.

*EDIT** This crimping tool works just as well as the expensive brands. Just for reference, if you want to crimp 6 AWG, set it to 16. Use Southwire #6 and Panduit Blue. The perfect crimp holds firmly and effortlessly. The original rating is below. Haven't had a chance to use this yet, but it looks like it will. Colleagues in my area used this particular model and praised it. It seems to be of good quality and very comparable to the more expensive ones. For the reviews stating that the dimensions

Overall, for the price and first use, it's worth it.

Preliminary check: Adjust the crimping tool a bit and it works perfectly, the wire cutters cut the 4awg wire without any problems. So I can't comment on how well it works in the long run or for anything over 4awg. The crimping pliers are just as easy to use as the (expensive, but more professional) Greenlee pliers*, except the dies were difficult to turn and lock until I loosened the hinges: I'm pretty sure the nuts just tightened were tightly dressed. I noticed that the casting left some…
