First of all, these are not real Marples. Just a Chinese remake of them under Irvine. Now there is nothing wrong with Chinese made tools, there are some very good sets like the MKC and Windsor brands that are made abroad for about $20 or less and have much better steel than these Irwins. It's just made wrong, so even though you have a solid plastic grip (although the paint bleeds), the steel doesn't last as long and the shaft is pretty brittle. Chocolate. Some of them are fine and some require a lot of work. But it is worth working on it only on good steel. It's a waste of time.
