Not the best option for Yamaha HS8 monitors but other than using milk crates or DIY these are the only desktop stands (Gator Frameworks stands are almost identical) that I might find work. A few things to note: - DO NOT lay the HS8 monitors on their side, the form factor does not fit the platter and the HS8 manual specifically states that these monitors should be held vertically - you must rotate the top Plate on the side, otherwise the front and back of the monitors will hang down. This means you can't tilt the monitors back and forth, only side-to-side (which is fine, since the ridge that now runs along the edge of the monitor will cause it to tilt unless you put that piece of MDF). or use thick spacers). The lateral placement of the monitors on the plate is almost perfect for them and distributes the weight reasonably evenly. Use spacers, I cut mine to fit the cymbal so I don't have to deal with the protrusion issue mentioned above. In general the stands seem strong enough to hold 29kg beasts but I do test them for stability from time to time. According to another site, these stands have a maximum weight of 45 pounds when evenly spaced, but I wouldn't put more than one HS8 on them.
