Review on Cooler Master MasterCase Extreme Element by Luis Shreibman

PCIe cable doesn't fit well in SFF cases

I actually had to go through two of these before finally giving up. I've been building PCs since the early 2000's and have never come across such a potentially great product with horrific design flaws. The first never turned on with the video card installed. The second powered on with the graphics card installed, but died when I finally stripped the wires to attach the cover. Then it showed the same problem as the first block. Both systems work if I take the graphics card out of the equation. I'm using a NUC 9 Extreme Compute Unit with an ASUS RTX2070 Mini built for an Intel Extreme case. If I put the compute unit and graphics card back into the original Intel case, everything just works. Another note: NC100 does not have an NVMe or PCIe 8x slot on the PCIe connector board. Personally, I don't need them for my application, but they are missing. They are included in the OEM package. I do not recommend this product to anyone until they change the design of the power supply and possibly add the missing peripherals to the connector board.

Pros
  • Many fit
Cons
  • Some difficulties
