Review on HP 22X DVD Writer with 1140i Compatibility by Dante Obong

I bought this CD in December. I was looking for a decent DVD-RW, Lightscribe was just a bonus. Burned almost nothing, basically wanted a DVD-Rom to replace my crappy Phillips. Well, about 2 weeks ago I noticed that the icon in my CD/DVD-Rom quick launch showed that the CD was not available, which is incorrect as there is always a disc. It turns out that when I start the computer it goes online, the BIOS shows that it does. Windows recognizes that this is the case. Unfortunately, the drive just stopped spinning. I even tried installing it on a spare computer to make sure it's my computer. In short, take it if you need a cheap temporary solution, but that's about all there is to it. I am also very dissatisfied with HP. Your support idea was to tell me to update windows, the only drivers are the standard windows drivers and of course my drive was not guaranteed. Oh, and they told me to install it on another computer after telling them everything I did above.
