Very Bad Defect

Take that with a grain of salt - I could get a bad block. I bought it as an alternative to another case I have and specifically to support drives larger than 4TB. From the start the device reads and writes from drives as expected, but on two consecutive occasions I've cloned an existing healthy drive and the end result was listed as successful, but when the target drive was removed from the enclosure and permanently installed as a SATA drive inside Case computer, the target disk is visible to Windows, visible in Disk Manager, but the partition size is wrong now and the disk is unreadable. This happened twice with two different source drives and using two different copy mechanisms: the first error was due to the use of a disk cloning tool, and the second error was a direct bulk copy of the operating system file. In both cases, the target drives were brand new Seagate Iron Wolf drives - the first 6TB and the second 4TB. some devices were delivered faulty and I ended up having one), or mine got damaged in shipping, or the device's built-in controller just can't handle large amounts of data over USB 3.0. I wouldn't have a chance to know but for my usage habits I won't be buying this brand again because I just don't want to risk that kind of wasting my time with a cheap drive case. I do not recommend this product and would be very wary of the brand for the same reason.
