i bought this black light b/c i have a cat who is almost 20 years old and has urinary incontinence from time to time. Now is one of those moments. The surface he does his business on is concrete in our basement break room. my house is not quite level as i live on the coast and it was built on swampy ground. Anyway, when it goes, it's just one long stream and gravity does its thing. and since the spots were dry, fresh, untreated, and against gray in color, I can see the spots with my own eyes. the other night, in pitch black darkness, I turned on the black light, fully expecting to see fresh stains along with old ones I might have missed. The only thing I saw was what appeared to be a starry sky on the ground. I don't know what that means, I have to refer to the box because different colors mean different stains. but fresh spots did not light up. I tried the recommended 3-4 inches and nada. thickness. The floor still needs to be washed. I'll try again and see if I get that "starlight" effect after cleaning the floor. I'd better see something, or I'll doff my hat with everyone who says it's a piece of junk. What bothers me is that I bought a good quality urine stain/odor remover combined with black light depending on how it actually works. We'll see if that happens, but I'm not holding my breath.
