Terrible prints until I made an adjustment

I was ready to throw this printer out the window. The colored prints of the photographs were terribly pale. Worst prints I have ever received from a printer! After hours of tinkering, reading the manual, trying everything, I finally found a solution. For my Windows 7 PC and another Windows 10 PC I had to disable ICM. It stands for "Image Color Matching" and is a program used by Windows to get the correct colors for devices such as printers or scanners. The ability to disable it is deeply hidden, so I've provided instructions on how to find it below. Also, I've attached a photo of the box you need to find. Once it's off, you don't have to do it again. I've also attached a photo of my cat, printed before I disabled ICM (everything is gone) and after I disabled it (much better). I would give this printer five stars, but I'm still a little concerned about the lack of a troubleshooting guide. Proceed as follows: 1. Start printing. On this first page select 'Settings' 2. When the Printing Preferences pop up window select the 'Printer Properties' link 3. From the 'Quick Settings' tab select 'Photo Printing', paper size and type (still click not on "OK") four. On the Page Setup tab, choose the page orientation (portrait or landscape) and page layout (choose Normal Size). Again, don't click OK yet.5. Click the Print Options button at the bottom of this page. In the pop-up window, you will see that not all options are selected. The only change you need to make is to select Disable ICM Required from Application Software. Just click on the little box and a tick will appear. If you want to learn more about this article or any other options, click on the "Help" button. Since I made this change, the prints are beautiful. Much luck!
