Review on Flossaid Dental Floss Holder: A Convenient Single Handle Solution by Darlene Myles

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Poorly designed and doesn't work

This is a poorly designed tool. The center bar is free to rotate and is made of metal so not only does it rotate, but the thread has little friction so it can slide - even when using far more thread than would be required to simply wrap it around your index fingers do it "old fashioned". Worse, the forks are oversized. "Proper" use of this tool requires that you compress the forks as you install the threads, which means the forks are *always* being pulled in the direction of the threads. Combined with the low-friction metal of the freely spinning spindle, the thread *relaxes*, allowing the forks to open in the mouth. This packs a double punch: the loss of tension makes it difficult to thread the floss between your teeth, and fully open forks make it difficult to maneuver the handle at all. Already narrow forks with a one-piece plastic body. so that there is no free rotation, a smooth metal spindle as it should be constructed. Yes, it's pretty cheap: almost nothing. But you get what you pay for: next to nothing.
