Works best with dental floss and toothpicks

Surprisingly I like that. I hate flossing because I hate putting my hands in my mouth, but I wanted something more sustainable and reusable. This works great for me. Yes, you have to make sure the thread is really tight, but it's not that hard, just wrap it at least 3 times. It's also made in the USA when I thought it was Chinese crap. So far it's holding up.

Loved these since childhood.

I used this type of floss when I was in elementary school and Flossaid is just great. Basically, you take a piece of thread, wrap it around the round handle a few times, stretch it up and over the bifurcated part, and then lower it around the handle a few more times, pulling hard. I don't like flossing the normal way (i.e. wrapping it around both index fingers) because it cuts off blood flow to my fingers - not a very comfortable feeling. This little device maintains tension on the floss…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • A little wrinkled

Great alternative to disposable toddler floss

This is a great alternative to disposable dental floss. My daughter has trouble with dental floss without a holder. I bought it after seeing her snap a thread on 3 disposables in less than a minute. Disposable items create a huge amount of waste. This holder is pretty durable. She has no problem with a large size (it is larger than disposable). This allows her to floss herself. It's very easy to use. The thread wraps around the "button" on the back of the holder, then down and around the end…

I love this dental floss!

This is my second thread, the first I bought in 2009 and it took 4 years before one of the plastic arms broke. I have used it daily and continue to use my new thread daily. I love loving the love of being able to floss my own and not contributing to a dump somewhere with disposable floss. Guys come on they are not needed and LOOK at the price of this little dealer. Put one in your car, cabin, bathroom and bag. You don't need anything disposable. But my guess is dental floss. I also find this…

I love it. I hate wrapping thread around mine.

Like. I hate wrapping yarn around my fingers or throwing away plastic. Downloading is easy if you read the instructions. I have a small mouth, but it fits because you squeeze the end of the mouth when loading, making it smaller and the thread tighter. I can't figure out why they aren't commercially available alongside filament. I also like that it's not exactly like dental floss, more like Listerine brand disposables, but better because there's not a single piece of plastic waste. I think…

Easy to use and maneuver in your mouth!

They are fine as long as you don't treat them too harshly when flossing. I bought the bouquet as a gift for family members last Christmas. I had a similar style that I got from dental school many years ago that broke after years of use. Mine broke after a month of use. The weak point is where the riveted washer is where you wind the thread. This is the exact same spot my other one broke but as I said after years of use not months. It wasn't difficult for me so I think the plastic should be of…

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Poorly designed and doesn't work

This is a poorly designed tool. The center bar is free to rotate and is made of metal so not only does it rotate, but the thread has little friction so it can slide - even when using far more thread than would be required to simply wrap it around your index fingers do it "old fashioned". Worse, the forks are oversized. "Proper" use of this tool requires that you compress the forks as you install the threads, which means the forks are *always* being pulled in the direction of the threads…
