Review on Monoprice ABS Back Enclosure (Pair) for PID 4103, 6 1/234; Ceiling Speaker White - Enhanced Acoustic Performance and Easy Installation by Tom Bennett

I was really hoping to get them to work with my newly purchased Klipsch KHC-6 speakers but they didn't even come close. I ended up customizing them, but this process is not for the faint of heart. I decided to modify the speakers and cabinets so they couldn't be returned because I was shocked at how expensive ceiling speaker cabinets are (both new and old work). They were the cheapest I found and looked like they actually did something with the transmission of sound from one level of the house to another. They feel pretty solid! I also decided to go further and installed a Kilmat 50 mil sound deadening mat around the perimeter. The 50mm is pretty flimsy so I'm sure an 80mm would be better, but the 50mm is much easier to work with. So far I am very satisfied with the results.
