I only received this device over the weekend and used it immediately after opening the box. I work in an office and I'm not a mechanic, so I love that I can plug my car in in seconds and it will tell me the code for why the Service Engine Soon light is on (which has become increasingly common since my 1999 Suburban age). All the codes and their meaning are in the small booklet that comes with the kit. I found it was just an emissions issue that could wait until the next truck oil change.
