In this old camper van the power cord was coiled up in a square tube and was difficult to plug back in and had to be unwound to lay flat when removed for use. It was shorter than traditional cables and sometimes had to be lengthened to support power lines. As seen in the photos I removed the box, inserted a plastic panel with the 30 amp socket above and connected the now free end of the cable. The door stayed on and closes and locks even after a new installation at the request of the new owners. This is not the quality of the old NEMA plugs made in USA, but it is good enough to work perfectly for many years. Some of the negative reviews have complained about the reverse wiring, and while I don't understand why these connectors have a smaller neutral than a hot contact, all 30 amp 120 VAC NEMA twistlocks are wired this way like a spade . 30 amp plug and socket are fine. Just follow their instructions and you will be fine.
