Review on 🚤 Johnson Evinrude OMC Water Pump Kit With Housing Replacement for 1980 and newer 20, 25, 30, and 35HP Outboard Motors - Sierra 18-3382 393630 0393630 Parts by Jack Robi

The water pump I replaced is on a 1985 30hp Evinrude. Overall it was great. I encountered two issues: the o-ring for the forward and reverse rods was too large and the rod could not be threaded through. I even oiled and heated the gasket and it bolted and I was afraid the linkage would bend and lose its shape (maybe I did something wrong so I'll skip that). I just got the gasket loosened from the old water pump problem. The second small issue was that the radius of the 6 washers was too large and when installing the lower backrest the wide washer would not clear the case. So I just replaced the washer with the old water pump. Overall, I'm happy that my outboard is ready to go.
