I bought this for the planned aquarium I have in my small air conditioned cottage heated by a wood stove in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest. Summer temperatures fluctuate widely throughout the day, often with a 40ºF difference between highs and lows, and ambient indoor temperatures experience similar but less dramatic fluctuations. This of course took a toll on my planted Fluval Spec V plants: I lost my entire RCS population as well as two African Dwarf Frogs, some plants started to thaw and other showed signs of stress. Enter this temperature controller paired with this fan: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L54ZYAQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Temperatures are much more manageable instead of swinging 10ºF I see only about 3 , and the only issue is evaporation, which I can live with. Fast forward to the colder months and I will be able to maintain a perfectly stable temperature. This device is easy to program, measures temperature accurately (I have a backup thermometer), works as advertised, and the display is easy to read in the room. If I build a larger aquarium for a public building in my city, I will definitely take this wonderful kit with me.
