I threw everything in the dishwasher and messed up the steak knives in my chopping block set, which I spent way too much money on. They even said they can be washed in the dishwasher, but not that much. While they weren't something heavy or hard, they were better from the start. For a budget set they are sharp and stand up to daily washing in the dishwasher. I have young children and eat three meals a day and eat a few snacks each day. I use them as everyday knives in the kitchen, constantly cutting fruit, vegetables and meat and training them thoroughly. So far I'm happy with everything. The blades are very sharp and slightly flexible and the handles are rubber with non-slip grip. It has a beautiful serrated edge that is not only suitable for cutting meat or steaks. In fact, I'm so pleased that I'll just throw away my expensive knives that haven't even remotely stood the test of time. It's such good value that even if they don't last long I can get another set for way less than what I paid for one of my old knives. I have a good set that sticks with my good cutlery but they are great for everyday use.
