I know the horsepower gain and mileage are debatable, but the savings are undeniable. The Lexus dealership charged $50 for a cheap paper filter every 15,000 miles; while I have to clean the K&N filter every 50,000 miles. Why anyone would pay a retailer $50 for a paper air filter is absurd. you do the math It only makes sense to pay $50 once and be done with it, and you might get a small performance boost as a bonus. Although it has the correct shape, the fit wasn't "exact". It ended up being about 1/16 inch longer on the angled side, which made installation a bit fiddly. But just close the air filter cover securely and make sure the air filter stays in place and I'm sure the heat from the engine in the compartment will soften the rubber and take the exact shape. I will check if everything is ok in a week.
