We bought this bike for my 4 year old for his birthday. It was very easy and quick to set up. He loved it but it took him a while to warm up to actually ride it and now he drives it all over the place. He likes to move fast and put his feet on the small deck. It's quite a small bike and he'll outgrow it before he's 5, but he has a little brother who will be waiting for him when he gets a pedal bike. I think the average kid can learn to ride a real bike after learning how to balance on that bike.
