Being old fashioned, all my system disks are partitioned in MBR format for legacy BIOS compatibility. Therefore, UEFI mode cannot be used and CSM must be enabled. Well I was very disappointed to find that IGP cannot be used when CSM is selected. I've never encountered this limitation before, so I checked out other vendors' manuals. It appears to be brand specific for this chipset - this is unacceptable. This might seem like an odd configuration for a gaming motherboard, but I like to use Z-series chipsets in my PCs whenever possible for maximum configurability and throughput. For example, I'm using a Z-series chipset in my backup server to expand hardware RAID with PCIe cards. Embedded video is perfectly fine on a standby server. Also, on my software development PCs where maximum CPU, RAM and I/O are useful, I only need onboard video to run dual monitors. This limitation seems poorly thought out.
