I'm the type of person who wants a filter that makes my water drinkable, but I hate the slow flow of OEM Pur filters. I was very happy with some of the Aquacrest I bought from Revain but they weren't available when I needed more so I tried these (6 pack). The first one I used was fine - it's a lot faster than OEM anyway. When it came time to replace it, the second was very slow, almost OEM. I only used it for a few days before I gave up and moved on. The third was a little better. The one I lived with for about 3 months. The fourth was much better again. I used this (4 months) until last week when the flow rate dropped noticeably. So now I'm 5th out of 6 and again it's awfully slow. Heck, I think #4 was faster at the end of his life than this one is now. I'll probably be switching to #6 very soon. I won't be buying them again. Quick update: 1 week later and I'm removing #5. I found that I have another OEM PUR filter so I decided to do a flow rate comparison. This 1 week old water specialist took just over 4 minutes to fill 1 gallon (0.25 gpm) before I removed it. The just filled PUR I produces the same gallon in less than 2 minutes (0.5 gpm). I saw this number in the spec for this filter so PUR matches their spec - just wish it was faster. I'll live with PUR until I try Waterspecialist #6.
