This works great, but if you don't have a MagSafe-compatible case for your iPhone 12, it won't work. The magnets on the mount form a circle and connect to the round magnet on the iPhone 12 itself or the round magnet built into the case. I first bought the thinnest case I could find for my iPhone 12, but it didn't have a built-in round magnet. in. So this mount didn't work. I then bought a case with a built in MagSafe magnet and it attached perfectly to the mount. So the point is, if you have an iPhone 12 (Basic, Pro, Mini, Max) and want to take advantage of the MagSafe features, you should either not use a case or buy a case with a built-in circular MagSafe ring.
