Works well With modifications

Make a tiny travel sewing kit. Of course I hope that this will never be necessary, but the seam can break open at any time and anywhere. I needed a small tube to safely transport the needles. I've read reports of problems with the magnet. I didn't understand what the problem was, so I bought it anyway. Now I see... a small magnet slides freely down the length of the tube. I see how the tips of small needles can get stuck between the magnet and the inner wall of the tube. The tube is tapered towards the top so the magnet cannot be removed. This tube is actually a bit bigger and longer than I thought it would be. My sewing needles are usually shorter so I don't need the extra length of this tubing. I don't like it when a little piece of plastic surprises me. I got out my craft supplies and used my tiny miter box and saw and then cut off about 3/4 inch from the bottom. The magnet slipped out. Using two part epoxy putty I made a new floor for the pipe. Now it's perfect! The shorter length saves space in my sewing kit, no need to struggle with a magnet, now I have the easy little tube I've always dreamed of. Easy-pisi. no need to struggle with a magnet, now I have the simple little tube I've always dreamed of. Easy-pisi. no need to fight with a magnet, now I have the simple little tube I've always dreamed of. Easy-pisi.

Pros
  • Internal magnetic lifters and fan needles for easy selection
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
