I bought an electric bike for my son's birthday this month and he uses it to commute to and from school. During the first week, someone cut the padlock in the school's bike park and tried to steal his bike (out of 150 bikes they were chasing him). The thief tried to cut the cable but forced his way through the case. Apparently he got frustrated trying for several minutes to cut the 14mm cable but was only able to get 1 or 2mm through. This delay helped bring school security to the area and arrest him. I bought a 7ft cable the next day just in case. I can definitely swear by this locking system - if a thief could cut open a padlock in a fenced bike area, but 1) couldn't cut the lock cable and 2) got so frustrated that they kept trying to cut it and then failed I will keep buying them!
