Highly polished, no holes or defects. Fits my AT LP-120 turntable with vinyl. Doesn't slow down my player. It's hard to say if that helps, but it seems to "flatten out" in a good way, a more even tone. I also received a Hudson HiFi Kit with ALL the cleaning supplies including: Velvet Record Cleaner, Record Cleaning Solution, Carbon Fiber Static Brush, Label Protector, Stylus Gel Pad Cleaner, Stylus Cleaning Solution. Also have an anti-static dust brush (looks like a tone arm). I wish I had a video for you, but the old rock album "Styx" sounded awful with hiss, crackles and scratches. Then I applied a cleaning solution to the record, rinsed with distilled water (my personal idea), dried with a microfiber cloth (included), used a carbon fiber anti-static brush, used a gel pad for the stylus, installed an anti-static dusting brush. the recording was incredibly much quieter, apart from the scratches that you can actually see. But now it's very worth listening to.
